Two indicted in connection with illegal gambling, money laundering operation

ANDERSON COUNTY – Two Anderson County men were arrested last week in connection with an illegal gambling and money laundering operation, according to federal and state officials.

A grand jury indicted Bobby Mosley Sr. of Townville and J. Michael Caldwell, who lives near Williamston, last Wednesday.

According to the indictment, the two are accused of laundering more than $144 million while conducting an illegal gambling operation.

The federal grand jury named Gateway Systems, Frontier Software Systems and Frontier Gaming in the indictment also.

The federal government seized $242 million of real estate from the men and those companies, according to the indictment.

The indictment said Mosley and Caldwell had been conducting the operation since 2005. The two are currently being held on $100,000 bond.
