EASLEY – Checking the mail never felt so good for two Upstate residents.

Brother and sister Joseph and Victoria Chappell took full advantage of a scratch-off promotion offered by Best Kia of Easley and Best Chevrolet of Easley by taking home the grand prize.

“The promotion is basically a mail-out we do to get people in the door,” said Sales Associate Tyler Dransfield. “Some people win and a lot of people get frustrated, but we encourage them to come in and check it out because the grand prize is a new car.”

Victoria Chappell said it was her brother who scratched off the winning sticker and insisted they go to the dealership.

“I am a believer now because I usually don’t pay any attention to car promotions in the mail, but my brother insisted that we come down here, and the next thing you know, we won a new car,” she said.

Joseph Chappell said he and his sister plan to take an immediate trip in their new 2013 Kia Rio.

“This is all very exciting and we are going to take a trip to Atlanta in our new car,” he said.
