Dog stolen from PAWS recovered, three still missing

March 25, 2014

ANDERSON — One of the puppies stolen from PAWS in Anderson County was recovered unharmed and returned to the PAWS facility. The recovered puppy, a Terrier/Pit Bull mix, was bought by an individual in Spartanburg County, who reportedly gave $70 for the dog.

The remaining two dogs have yet to be located.

Per the investigation, the suspects gave one of the dogs (without cost) to a young female they met at the Pilot Travel Center in Piedmont. The female was reportedly driving an orange, newer-model, Mitsubishi Eclipse.

The third dog might have been given to a family in Beaufort.

Investigator Gene Culbertson would like to hear from anyone who has information concerning the exact location of the remaining two dogs. His office number is (864) 231-2807.
