SWU to dedicate new track April 9

CENTRAL – Southern Wesleyan University will dedicate and name its new track at 4 p.m. April 9.

The facility, which includes 400-meter, eight-lane track, dual runways the long and triple jump, two shot put rings, and a hammer and discus area and soccer field, is located near the university’s entrance at S.C. Highway 93.

Southern Wesleyan University President Todd Voss will also unveil conceptual drawings of the complex’ second phase.

We invite all representatives of the media to come and be a part of this important event in the life of our campus community. Ample parking will be provided at the Wesleyan Drive entrance to the facility. Just turn onto S.C. 93 and go to Clayton Drive. Then turn right onto Wesleyan Drive and take another right at the entrance to the facility, located between Clayton Drive and Varsity Field, home of the Warriors Softball Team.

With 15 intercollegiate athletic teams, Southern Wesleyan University is a current candidate for Division II of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and is preparing to compete in Conference Carolinas later this year. They are also members of the National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association (NCCAA) and Southern States Athletic Conference.
