EASLEY – The fourth annual Masquerade for MARYS House was, by all accounts, a success with nearly 130 people in attendance and a final coffer count of more than $6,000.
The event, held Oct. 6 at Bleu Voodoo Grill, was to help Marys House, which opened in 2008 as a shelter for victims of domestic abuse. The shelter was unique in that it has what were considered family suites, allowing mothers and their children to stay together.
Marys House is a faith-based, non-denominational, non-profit organization that is funded with grants and donations. The 2016 event will be held on the first Tuesday of October.
