EASLEY — The manhunt for Jason Allen Larson, wanted in connection with two attempted murders April 9, continues and law enforcement is seeking the public’s help.

Larson is suspected of being the gunman in a shooting that took place at 408 Highland Road in Easley just after 8:30 p.m. April 9, sending one man to Greenville Memorial Hospital with gunshot wounds. The victim remains in stable but critical condition.

The second count of attempted murder is for shots fired at an unidentified female in the residence.

“We’re still looking for Larson, he is our only suspect in the case at this point and chances are someone knows something,” Major Tim Tollison of the Easley Police Department said. “He’s still out there and has to be considered armed and dangerous.”

One eyewitness, who asked to remain anonymous, identified Larson as the gunman.

“(The victim) had been here for about an hour when he (Larson) pulled in and got out of his car. He asked if I was who he was looking for then went up the steps when he found out I wasn’t,” the witness said. “The next thing you know you can hear the guns going off and a commotion. He has a couple of guns, one in each hand when he jumped in the car and sped away.”

According to eyewitness statements, Larson left in a late model white Nissan/Mitsubishi style automobile with a South Carolina tag, JVJ865, and hasn’t been seen since.

When asked if Larson was searching the victim out, one witness stated “he (Larson) was either texted or called and told he was here.”

Witnesses speculated the disagreement between Larson and the victim was a running dispute over a woman, but Pickens County officials have not confirmed that as a factor in the shooting.

“When he (Larson) pulled up and got out of the car, he looked like he meant business,” the witness stated. “It scared me, honestly, because I had no idea what was going on or why.”

Based on eyewitness statements and information provided by the Easley Police Department, the victim and two females were in the upstairs apartment of the residence when Larson arrived. One of the females left the scene in Larson’s company and the second is still being sought for questioning.

The Pickens County Sheriff’s Department is also involved in the manhunt.

“We’re working with the city of Easley trying to locate Mr. Larson,” Chef Deputy Creed Hashe said. “We’ve assigned a couple of detectives to help in the search to help find the suspect.”

The Easley Police Department is looking for information from the public to help find Larson. Tips or leads can be phoned in to 864-859-4025.
