ANDERSON – An Anderson County man has been charged with stealing $18,000 in copper wiring and causing $20,000 damage to the buildings from which he stole the wiring, the Anderson County Sheriff’s Department said.


Jonathan Colie Moore, 32, has been charged with two counts of burglary, four counts of grand larceny, and four counts of injury to real property (to obtain nonferrous metals). His bond was set at $56,000.


Moore is charged with burglarizing the cellular tower site located at 199 Latimer Road in Anderson and the AT&T power station located at 221 Alliance Parkway in Williamston.


According to the arrest warrants, on March 25, Moore entered a fenced-in area that secured the site on Latimer Road, entered a building leased to T-Mobile and stole copper wiring valued at $11,000 while causing over $15,000 in damage.


On March 31, Moore forced entry into the AT&T building on Alliance Parkway and stole $7,000 worth of copper wiring and buss bars, while caused over $5,000 in damage to that facility.
