ANDERSON – A massage therapist in Anderson County was arrested and charged last week with two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, according to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.
Jesus Garcia, 57, a licenses massage/bodywork therapist, owns and operates Garcia Massotherapy and Wellness Center located at 218-B Shockley Ferry Road in Anderson.
Garcia was charged with engaging in sexual battery with two of this patients, both 15-year-old females.
Per arrest warrants, Garcia assaulted both victims while they were being treated at his office. He was taken into custody at his home Aug. 4 without incident.
Based on South Carolina State Law, a person is guilty of criminal sexual conduct in the second degree if the actor uses aggravated coercion to accomplish sexual battery. The offense is a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than twenty years, according to the discretion of the court.
“At this point in the investigation, we don’t know if there may be other victims in this case,” Anderson County Sheriff John Skipper said. “If anyone else, who has been treated by Garcia, has experienced this same type of criminal act, we ask them to step forward and contact Investigator Danny Barton at 864-231-1937.”
