Clemson Downs marketing director


CLEMSON — Clemson Downs Retirement Community announced that Ruthie Millar has joined its team in a newly created marketing role.


Millar will work to heighten external engagement by working with members of the Greater Clemson community and across the region to convey the value of the “continuum of care” model offered at Clemson Downs.


Millar will work in tandem with longtime Clemson Downs employee Jackie Cleveland, who is heading up internal marketing programs.


The expansion of the marketing department coincides with rapid growth and development at the Clemson campus.


Millar joins Clemson Downs after serving as membership director for the Clemson Area Chamber of Commerce since 2008. In that role, Millar served as community liaison with chamber members, other community organizations and sponsors.


“Ruthie’s significant impact within the Clemson community is inspiring for us at Clemson Downs,” said John LeHeup, executive director for Clemson Downs. “Her energy and passion and vast knowledge of the community is unmatched, and she is a strong and exciting addition to our marketing team. We look forward to her strong leadership and forward thinking approaches in ensuring our marketing initiatives convey the true value of our retirement community to Pickens County residents and beyond.”


Along with extensive experience at the Clemson Chamber, Millar also is engaged with area non-profits and events, co-chairing ClemsonFest and serving on the board at Pendleton United Methodist Church.


“Clemson Downs has a powerful story because this is a retirement community that does nothing short of keeping families and couples in close proximity to each other when they require varying degrees of care,” said Millar. “I look forward to expanding my knowledge of the Town of Clemson and beyond and continuing to engage those who are my neighbors and who have grown to become great friends.”


UW names new RDD


PICKENS — Tracey Long is the new Resource Development Director for United Way in Pickens County where she will be responsible for coordinating local work place campaigns. She grew up in Georgia and now lives in Anderson with her husband and two children. She came from The American Cancer Society as a Relay For Life Specialist.


Austin, Snyder earn Master’s Designation


EASLEY — Yolanda Austin and David Snyder, both Realtors in the Easley office, recently earned Allen Tate Realtors’ Master’s Designation which is awarded to associates who have furthered their professional real estate education through a comprehensive program of specialized, in-house coursework.


The Master’s curriculum includes specialist certification in technology, finance, new home construction, relocation, marketing and communication skills.


Realtors who join Allen Tate with prior real estate experience must complete 48 credit hours, while those new to real estate must complete 60 credit hours to earn their Master’s Designation. Allen Tate Company developed the Master’s Designation program to keep its associates up to date on the real estate industry and market.

EASLEY – Allen Tate Realtors recently announced the Top Agents for July. In the Easley Office, Val Hubber was Top Listing Agent and Jackie Crane was Top Producer. The Missy Rick Team was the Top Listing and Producing Team for the Easley office.


AnMed Health leadership transition plans


ANDERSON — John Miller, CEO of AnMed Health Systems, has informed the Board of Trustees of his wish to transition from CEO responsibilities in 2015.


Miller joined the executive team of AnMed Health in 1973 and after serving as its first Chief Operating Officer, was named president and CEO in 1998. During his tenure, AnMed Health has been a major contributor in advancing healthcare access in the greater Anderson region as the organization has responded to the many healthcare needs of a growing, more diverse population.


In addition to being a major healthcare provider, AnMed Health under Miller’s leadership, has been actively engaged in many community, regional, state, and national healthcare initiatives. The board has selected Integrated Healthcare Strategies in Minneapolis, Minn., to assist in the CEO selection process.
