RICHMOND, Va. — It was another trip to Victory Lane for JR Motorsports but this time it was Kevin Harvick’s turn in the #5 Tide Chevy Camaro.
Harvick held off rookie and teammate Chase Elliott to capture the ToyotaCare 250 in the wee hours of Saturday morning following a three-hour rain delay at Richmond International Raceway.
Heavy rains and a tornado watch could not keep Harvick from his first win in the series this season and 41st of his career. The win kept teammate Elliott from winning his third in a row.
It was the fourth time this year that car owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. has made the trip to Victory Lane with one of his drivers.
The one-two finish by Harvick and Elliott was the first for JR Motorsports. Harvick dominated the race from nearly the start to finish, leading 202 of the 250 laps. Kyle Busch finished third, Kyle Larson was fourth and pole-winner Brian Scott was fifth.
