The annual LaGrange Christmas Parade brought thousands downtown Thursday and the float contest brought out plenty of entrants with the “All I Want for Christmas” theme.

Judge Michelle Willaims said floats were judged based on effort, preparation, creativity and participation.

Rosemont Elementary School was the hit of the parade with its extravagant “Duck Dynasty”- inspired float, winning the coveted Director’s Choice Award. Williams said Rosemont sealed the spot for standing out among the rest and earning the highest scores in all categories.

Categories for the floats included the church division, small business division, large business industry division, civic division, first-time entry and school division.
