MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the men’s tennis all-conference selections last week with Southern Wesleyan represented in the first year as a program.
Freshman Camilo Sandoval was named to the all-conference team after leading the Warriors with a 7-7 individual record, playing all 14 matches at the number one position. He was 5-3 in the SSAC including a singles victory against Martin Methodist who was receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 at the time.
In doubles competition Sandoval posted a 3-11 mark with two different teammates, all at the number one position. Sandoval was 3-5 overall in the SSAC in doubles including a 3-2 marked when teamed with Matthew Plummer. That duo was 3-4 overall.
The Warriors closed out their first season of competition in the SSAC Tournament, falling to top seed and No. 2 Auburn-Montgomery 9-0. SWU closed out the year with a 3-11 overall record and a 3-5 mark in the SSAC.
