No breaks in Dacusville murder case
DACUSVILLE — The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office has no new information that can be released concerning the investigation into the shooting death of Shane A. Williams which occurred during the early morning hours of Jan. 26.
The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at 3:45 a.m. that morning where the caller reported a shooting at 117 Devon Court in the Dacusville Community.
Once there, Williams, 38, was found dead inside the residence. An autopsy performed by the Pickens County Coroner’s Office indicated that Williams had been shot several times and died from one of the gunshots.
The victim’s wife and a small child were inside the single family residence when the incident occurred but were not injured.
Both told deputies they were awakened by what sounded like gunshots and found Williams on the floor inside the residence. No signs of forced entry were discovered.
Sheriff’s detectives continue to focus on the investigation and are currently chasing several leads.
“I am personally involved in the investigative aspects of this case on a daily basis and I feel very confident that we will identify the person or persons responsible for Mr. Williams’ death,” Sheriff Rick Clark said.
The Sheriff’s Office has no additional comments to release on the incident, but should an arrest be made, the Sheriff’s Office will make that information available to all media sources simultaneously. Information will only be disseminated through an official media release or press conference.
