U.S. Air Force


Air Force Airman Andrew R. Brown graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas.


The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.


Brown is the son of Rick Brown of Easley and Jan Brown of Greenville. He is a 2004 graduate of Wren High School in Piedmont.


Air Force Airman 1st Class Tyler A. Parsons graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas.

Parsons earned distinction as an honor graduate. He is the son of Nancy and Steven Parsons of Easley and a 2008 graduate of Easley High School.


Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Elizabeth S. Sampson graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas. Sampson earned distinction as an honor graduate.

She is the daughter of Jamie and Edward Sampson of Six Mile and the granddaughter of Shirley Hendricks of Orwell, Vt.


Sampson is a 2012 graduate of D.W. Daniel High School in Central.


Army National Guard


Army National Guard Spec. Timothy Kyle has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.


During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.


Kyle is the son of Teri and Tim Kyle of Easley.


He is a 2006 graduate of Wren High School, Piedmont. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 2010 from The Citadel in Charleston.
