The Oconee Soil and Water Conservation District , in partnership with the Tamassee Dar School is offering a week long learning opportunity called The Agriculture Conservation Education Camp, (ACE Camp). This week long adventure is open to rising sophomore, junior and senior high school students. Camp curriculum will include visits to working farms, including the Clemson Organic Farm, interpretive historic sites, waterfall hikes, and conservation education that will in-clude orienteering, water quality evaluation and wildlife habitat planning. Participants will be re-acquainted with where their food comes from by visiting production areas for row crops, beef cat-tle, and fruit production facilities. A natural resource focus will include programs from SCDNR, Clemson Extension Forestry, and a trip down section three of the wild and scenic Chattooga River. Campers will be housed at the historic Tamassee DAR Campus in Tamassee South

Carolina. The camp is open to twenty participants and is on first come first served basis. To guar-antee participation applicants should file an application as soon as possible. The Oconee Soil and Water Conservation Districts focus on natural resource education con-tinues to evolve and participation in this opportunity will provide students with a hands on learn-ing opportunity unsurpassed in the upstate. The Camp dates are the week of June tenth until June fourteenth.
