Singing the Blues with a smile

Blues musician Mac Arnold of Pelzer plays his trademark gas can guitar during a performance Friday night at Central’s Red Minnow Restaurant. The performance was part of the four-day long Clemson Blues Festival that began Thursday night. Performers played all day Saturday under a tent at Patrick Square between Pendleton and Clemson. Clemson United Methodist Church hosted gospel tunes Sunday afternoon. The festival is in its second year and was inspired by 1950s and 1960s performances by national Blues names like Muddy Waters and Ray Charles at Littlejohn’s grill in Clemson.
