PICKENS COUNTY—The Easley Farmers Market is preparing for its annual “Holiday Market.”
Farmers Market manager Lisa Garrett said the Holiday Market, which will be held in the Easley City Hall parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 17, is a great way to begin Christmas shopping.
“Buy local,” Garrett said to potential customers. “Support your farming, and see where your food comes from, what is in it, and how it was grown. It is always important to keep it local because you can talk to the grower and see how it is grown.”
Garrett said the Farmers Market sees success based on the season, and fall is no different.
“People come based on the season and we always have a good turnover,” said Garrett. “Something is always new at the Market.”
Garrett said it has been an especial good year at the market.
“We have people every week come and say ‘This is our first time here. We didn’t know you were here,’” said Garrett. “Each week it seems like we get more and more people. It’s been great this year.”
While a lot of focus has been put on spreading the word, Garrett says she hopes the market will continue to have a successful year in Easley.
“We’ve had more value added vendors come this year and it has been really great,” said Garrett. “It’s been really exciting.”
