EASLEY – Baptist Easley and the Greenville Hospital System will expand services by adding a medical center in Powdersville.
“The Powdersville area has long been under served for medical services and this collaboration started with the Greenville Hospital System breaking ground a year ago, so we are excited to see it coming to fruition in a few weeks,” said Allison Greene, manager of market development and public relations for Baptist Easley.
The existing relationship between Baptist Easley and the Greenville Hospital System began almost four years ago.
“The Greenville Hospital System bought 50 percent of the ownership of Baptist Easley from Palmetto Health in October of 2009. Baptist Easley has its own board of directors since then, with participation by both Palmetto Health and the Greenville Hospital System, “Greene said. “ This is the first physical evidence of that partnership.”
The Powdersville Medical Center will offer a variety of services including, MD360, Seadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas, Proaxis Therapy, Surgical Specialists, Imaging Services, Sleep Lab, and Community Room.
“The MD360 is an urgent care center, and this one in Powdersville will be the fourth MD360 that the Greenville Hospital System has opened. It will provide services seven days a week with extended hours, so if you are sick or injured, you can walk in with no appointment needed,” Greene said.
Hospital officials say that no other large scale projects are in the works.
“This has really been the big project that has been on the horizon for a while,” Greene said.
The Powdersville Medical Center will hold an Open House on Sunday Jan. 27 from 2 to 4 p.m. so that medical center officials can field questions from the public and provide tours.
The medical center in Powdersville is located at Hwy 81 and McNeely Road (behind CVS on Hwy 153) and is expected to open by Feb. 5.
