EASLEY — If Marley Day were not unique enough in her own personality, today marks an individuality that few others in the world can claim.
Here is one way of writing it. On 12-12-12, Marley turned 12 at 12:12 a.m.
It is a uniqueness and quirk of our calendar that the Day family of the Gettys Middle School student has been awaiting since the day of her birth. The alignment of dates and times became apparent almost immediately with the surprise finish down the the minute.
Marley’s mother, Crystal, had hoped that she not give birth to the child until after Dec. 11. Another family member celebrated that day and the mother, intensely interested in allowing all her children their individual due, wanted the baby to have her own day. So as the clock ticked on that night, she was glad to see midnight arrive.
Then as the paperwork was being completed, delivery room staff noted the time of birth 12:12 a.m. said Crystal Day.
Marley has grown into a young woman of some dramatics and varied interests, says her mother. The bright-faced youth enjoys cheer leading and studies dance at the Center for Performing Arts in Powdersville. She wants to get into competition cheering. The living room of the family home includes paintings by Marley.
“I’m going to be an actress,” she declares. She enjoys performing in church plays. Her mother says Marley is willing to try most anything, enjoys a challenge and is intimidated by almost nothing. “It is the way she has been from birth,” Crystal Day says.
To commemorate the unique birthday, the Day family planned to be awake at 12:12 a.m. A party is planned with friends Saturday. The event incorporates a Hollywood theme, which doesn’t surprise anyone in Marley’s family. The front walk will be the scene of the red carpet walk.
