Felix L. Finley Jr.

Pickens - Felix Levi Finley Jr., 91, husband of Lillie Lynch Finley, of 124 Glassy Mountain Street, died, January 29, 2008 at Palmetto Baptist Health.

Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Felix Levi Finley Sr. and Sarah Aiken Finley. He was a graduate of Furman University and The University of South Carolina. Mr. Finley was the owner of Finley Law Firm P.A., former Director and Vice President of Pickens Savings and Loan Association, County attorney for Pickens County, City attorney for the City of Pickens, Director of Pickens Bank and had many accomplishments in the field of law. Mr. Finley was a US Army veteran, a member of the Keowee Masonic Lodge # 79, a Shriner and a member of Secona Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are; sons, Gregory Lee Finley and wife Connie of Sunset, Dr. Robert Felix Finley and wife Lori of Sunset, Dr. Philip Alan Finley and wife Barbara of Sumter, Stephen Craig Finley and wife Susan of Columbia; step- daughters, Jacquelyn G. Broome and husband Monty of Greenville, Linda G. Newman and husband Leon of Sunset; brother, David Finley of Benton, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by 6 sisters and 4 brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2008 in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunrise Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at the funeral home.

Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to Secona Baptist Church, 234 Secona Road, Pickens, SC 29671

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Secona Baptist Church for their kindness shown during this very difficult time.

Also the family wishes to give special thanks to Bart Turner for Mr. Finley’s introduction to his Secona Church family.

The family is at the home of his son Gregory Finley, 615 Nine Times Road, Sunset, SC
