Azalea Festival to present top musical entertainment

Slated for April 18-19, the festival offers family fun for all

PICKENS - The 2008 Azalea Festival, scheduled to hit the streets of Pickens April 18-19, is offering the musical talents of two internationally recognized bands on this year's evening entertainment venue, Russ Gantt, chairman of the festival said.

The Alabama Blues Brothers will perform for the festival attendees during the Friday night concert, Gantt said.

Jamey and Justin Crisler, of Town Creek, Alabama, are the only actual brothers to take the stage in their impersonation of the original Blues Brothers, John Belushi and Dan Aykroid, who made their music famous in the 1980 movie that holds the record for the most cars wrecked during one film.

Sponsored by The Pickens Sentinel, the Alabama Blues Brothers will add the 2008 Azalea Festival to their extensive repertoire of tours which begin when the brothers first performed at Nashville's Hard Rock Caf
