Suspect may be armed, deputies go door-to-door

EASLEY - Deputies are on a door-to-door manhunt for a suspect wanted on warrants charges in Pickens and Greenville counties.
At about 2:30 p.m., a deputy on patrol on S.C. 183 recognized the driver of an oncoming car as the man wanted in an ongoing case in Pickens County.
The deputy turned around and began to pursue the vehicle which attempted to elude the deputy, said Assistant Sheriff Tim Morgan.
After only a short chase however, the driver abandoned the vehicle and a foot pursuit ensued, he said.
The suspect is a black male wearing blue jeans and is possibly armed, he said.
Now deputies are being aided in their search by dogs and Greenville County helicopter, Morgan said.
The female passenger of the vehicle has been placed into custody, Morgan said.
Residents in the Doberman Trail area and beyond are urged to use caution until the pursuit is over, Morgan said.
