PICKENS COUNTY - Filing has closed and the race for school board seats is on, with contested races in two out of the three races in the Nov. 4 election.
Filing for seats on the district board of trustees ended Friday afternoon.
In Pickens, incumbent Alex Saitta faces challengers Selena Brinson and Dan Trouten for the District Three seat, which Saitta has held since 2004.
In Easley, Randy Bowers, Dale Cantrell, Essie Clark and Judy Edwards will vie for the District 5, after Trustee Dr. Jim Brice chose not to run for re-election to the seat he has held since 2000.
In Clemson, Dr. Herbert Cooper faces no challengers for his District 1 seat, which he has held since 1992.
