CLEMSON - Clemson Police Department officials are searching for a man who last week attempted to kill his girlfriend by breaking her neck, Captain Kerry Walker, with that agency, said.

According to Walker, the department is holding arrest warrants for Osvaldo Gomez Hermosillo, charging him with assault and battery with intent to kill in the October 20 incident that occurred at 141-3 Cochran Road.

In a written press release, Walker said that the victim reported being struck in her face by Hermosillo' open hand, and then punched in the chest by the suspect's closed fist, both causing injuries to the victim.

Hermosillo allegedly tried to break the neck of the victim by "grabbing her by the neck with one hand and twisting her chin with the other," Walker said in a press release.

The victim was transported to a "medical facility" for treatment, she said in the press release.

Hermosillo is reported to be a Hispanic male, 5'8" in height, and weighing about 140 pounds, Walker said in the release.

He could be traveling in a 1990 red Chevrolet Silverado extended cab truck, she said in the statement.

Hermosillo has been sighted in Pickens, Anderson, Oconee and Greenville Counties and anyone knowing the whereabouts of Hermosillo should call 911, or the Clemson Police Department at 864-624-2000, Walker said.
