PICKENS COUNTY — An Aiken man has been found guilty of murdering an Easley man last year.

Wednesday afternoon Pickens County jurors found Christopher Robert Murray, 21, guilty of shooting to death 21-year-old James Anthony Gibson.

Circuit Court Judge Edward Welmaker sentenced Murray to 40 years in prison.

Gibson was found dead on the floor of his Black Snake Road home the evening of Jan. 18, 2010.

Murray and his co-defendant, Beulah Faye Brissey, were arrested two days after the murder in Aiken County by deputies of the Aiken County and Pickens County Sheriff’s offices.

Brissey is charged with accessory after the fact to murder. Her trial is ongoing.
