Both of Easley’s losses came at Greenwood. The Eagles advance to face Ashley Ridge next week in the state semifinals.
Greenwood opened the game strong, taking the opening kickoff and driving it 73 yards on 11 plays to take a 7-0 lead. Devante Parks ran the final 7 yards for the touchdown.
Easley was unable to gain a first down on its first drive and gave up the ball on a punt. Greenwood was unable to earn a first down, but chose to go for it on a fourth and three play at the Easley 40. Parks completed a 1-yard pass, leaving the Eagles still short of a first down and Easley took over possession of the ball.
The two teams exchanged punts throughout the rest of the first half and Greenwood took a 7-0 lead into halftime.
Greenwood took its opening drive of the third quarter 77 yards before settling for a Matt McManus 32-yard field goal that gave the Eagles a 10-0 lead.
In the fourth quarter, Easley drove the ball inside the Greenwood 10, but was stopped on a fourth and 4 play at the Greenwood 7 to end the scoring threat.
Later Easley drove the ball to the Greenwood 16 yard line, but was unable to pick up another first down.
On the next drive Devante Parks ran 82-yards for the game’s final touchdown, giving Greenwood a 17-0 lead.
With a minute and a half remaining in the game, Easley drove the ball to midfield before time ran out.
Braundan Addison led Easley with 66 yards rushing. Zach Lappin completed 4 0f 8 pass attempts for 76 yards.
