The speaker will be Candi Forester Smith, who was voted 2011 Pickens County BPW Young Careerist of the Year and also from other Young Careerist candidates from across the state was chosen BPW/SC Young Careerist. Mrs. Smith is the Campaign Manager for the United Way of Pickens & Oconee Counties. She is responsible for raising a total of $1,450,000.00 between the two counties through their workforce campaigns. Candi received her Masters of Public Administration from Clemson University and her Bachelors in Science from Eastern New University, and is committed to nonprofit endeavors which benefit the local community. Her community activities include Easley Business Professional Women, Clemson Women in Business, Leadership Clemson, as well as Leadership Oconee. Her goals are to actively engage herself to help move Pickens & Oconee Counties issues forward, especially in education, income, and basic needs.
The BPW Mission Statement is to achieve equality for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education and information. The Objectives are to elevate the standards of women in business and in the professions; to promote interest of business and professional women; to bring about a spirit of cooperation among business and professional women and to extend opportunities to business and professional women through education along the lines of industrial, scientific and vocational activities.
