A venue for local artists has come to uptown Pickens, and owners Doc and Robin Giddings, Donald and Margaret Collins, are excited to share their collective love for art and the city of Pickens with the rest of the community.

“I have been here for 30 years. We, as a gallery, love Pickens and wanted to do something for the city to encourage community,” said co-owner and artist, Robin Giddings. “An art gallery provides a forum for people to come together in a beautiful place.”

The Court Street Gallery is conveniently located in uptown Pickens in an historic masonry building and will hold its grand opening on Oct.5.

“I would like to see the town come alive, and when artists come in, it can improve the day to day life of a community, and we would like others to do the same,” said co-owner and artist, Donald Collins.

The gallery will feature local artists, paintings, ceramics, ironworks, jewelry, and photography.

“Art paints my life and it makes life meaningful. I would like to extend those sentiments to the community,” said co-owner Margaret Collins. “As a gallery, we want to encourage local artists and provide for them a platform to showcase their work.”
