Sock Hop

Carolina Band Stand Show is having a 50’s Sock Hop at the Easley Recreation Center 7 to 10 p.m. Community members are invited to come dressed in period costume. Show will be aired on My40. Trunk or Treat

Health Fair

POWDERSVILLE — A collective of 10 churches in the Powdersville-Easley area have united to host Community Health Fair Sunday, Nov. 4.

The event will be held at Bethesda United Methodist Church on SC Hwy 81 in Powdersville from 2 to 4 p.m. This is the 15th year providing free health screenings, a blood drive, flu shots and a wide variety of health information exhibits. Door prizes and special activities for children are available.

Free screenings include testing of cholesterol, blood pressure, bone density, vision, hearing and diabetes.

Chamber business seminar

The Greater Pickens Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Lunch and Learn from noon to 1 p.m. at the Gatehouse Restaurant in Pickens. The topic is the Affordable Healthcare Actand how it affects the individual business. No reservation is necessary. Each attendee is responsible to his/her own lunch.
