EASLEY – Joe’s Coffee Club and the provocatively named ” ‘Possum Club” Friday celebrated the approaching retirement of Roddey Getty, CEO of Baptist Easley Hospital.

About 30 people gathered for lunch at Joe’s Ice Cream Parlor to celebrate Gettys who announced in September that he plans a retirement this September. The hospital administrator has been with Baptist Easley since Dec. 1, 1969, providing 43 years of leadership and service. Gettys says he hopes to stay involved in health care “in some way,” travel to make new friends in small towns. He currently serves as the chairman of Pickens County March of Dimes. He is shown with Joe Lesley, owner of Joe’s Ice Cream, left, and Mike Johnson, displaying his ‘Possum Club shirt.
