PICKENS — William Wilson (Bill) Rainey, Jr., 52, husband of Kathlene Edens Rainey, passed from this life Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.

Bill, Jr. was born in Charleston, SC, a son of William Wilson Rainey, Sr. and Sue Cole Rainey of Dacusville. He was employed with Bosch in Anderson and he was an independent Baptist. Bill, Jr. served his country proudly in the National Guard, the U. S. Army, and then the U. S. Marines during Desert Storm with 100 hours of combat. He later served in the U.S.M.C. Ready Reserves. He was a member of the American Legion, The U. S. Air Force Association, and The Marine Corps League.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Kathlene Rainey, his parents, sons, Robert and Shawn Rainey both of Pickens, brother, Barry Rainey of Simpsonville, and sister, Sonya Fields of Ft. Inn.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 PM Monday in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens with burial following at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Monday at the funeral home.
