Alexandra Lee McFadden and Matthew Charlton Harman, both of Greensboro, NC, were united in marriage on June 22, 2013, at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Spartanburg, SC. The Reverend Frank E. Lybrand officiated at the ceremony which was followed by a reception at the Event Center at Cleveland Park in Spartanburg.
Mrs. Harman is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Franklin Owens of Spartanburg and Mr. John Scott McFadden of Easley, SC. She is also the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Larry McFadden and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Edward Belcher of Easley, as well as the step-granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ansel Clifford Owens of Greenville, SC. The bride was graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. She is employed with Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Mr. Harman is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Douglas Harman of Spartanburg. He is also the grandson of Mrs. Charlton Newton “Bud” Harman of Grafton, WV and the late Mr. Harman, as well as the late Mr. and Mrs. Jarrett David Mack of Spartanburg. The groom earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration and finance from the University of South Carolina and is employed with AAR Aircraft Component Services in Greensboro.
Miss Emily JoAnna McFadden of Greenville served as her sister’s maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Steven Jarrett Harman of Concord, NC, Mrs. Timothy Patrick Bane of Puyallup, WA, Mrs. Noah David Winograd of Augusta, GA, Miss MaryAnn McLeod Robinson of Easley, Miss Laura Katherine Bruns of Charleston, SC, Mrs. Andrew Thomas Kirkpatrick of Columbia, SC, Miss Neely Hope Davis of Oak Ridge, NC, and Mrs. Grant Charles Hartanov and Miss Kaitlyn Ann Flynn, both of Washington, D.C.
The groom’s brother, Mr. Steven Jarrett Harman of Concord, served as best man. Groomsmen were Mr. John Douglas Harman and Mr. Dawson Eswine Harman, both of Spartanburg, Mr. Andrew Thomas Kirkpatrick of Columbia, Mr. Corey Franklin Mayfield of Inman, SC, Mr. Kyle John Scanlin of Asheville, NC, Mr. Paul Emerson Rowland of Atlanta, GA, Mr. Tyler Christopher Hendrix of Simpsonville, SC, and Mr. Matthew Pearce Young and Mr. James Alan Nelson both of Greensboro.
Program attendants were Mrs. Michael James Harrington of Charleston and Mrs. Corey Franklin Mayfield of Inman.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Roland Smith, vocalist and organist, respectively.
Following a wedding trip to Antigua, the couple will be at home in Greensboro.
