Mark Stanley Peters, 53, of Batson Pate Drive, is currently being held at the Pickens County Detention Center in connection with an incident that occurred on April 27.
Police say the 13-year-old victim was spending the night with a friend when a man entered the room, where she slept in the floor on a pallet, and touched her inappropriately, according to the incident report.
According to the arrest warrant, the girl asked the man to leave when she was awakened by his actions, but he “exhibited absolute audacity by asking if she wanted him to return.”
The victim replied, “No, leave me alone,” the warrant states.
Peters’ bond was set at $15,000.
