Easley – Edna Essie Bolding Garrett, 94, of 614 Mulberry Road, widow of Thomas M. Garrett, died Wednesday at Rosemond Nursing Center in Pickens.

Mrs. Garrett was born in Pickens County, daughter of the late Samuel and Essie Lumpkin Bolding. She was a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Easley and was retired from Sangamo Electric in Pickens and later retired from Foothills Manufacturing Company as a seamstress.

Survivors include daughters Della Black (Jack) of Pickens, LaDelle Boggs (Lloyd) of Greenwood, and Sandy Phillips (Clyde) of Easley and sons Mac Garrett (Flo) of Easley, and Pat Garrett (Karen) of Midvale, Utah, brothers J. L. Bolding, and Donald Bolding both of Pickens and sister Bobbie Pace also of Pickens. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Garrett was preceded in death by a son T. Charles Garrett, brothers Fred and Norman Bolding and sisters, Betty Buchanan, and Rebecca Garrett.

Funeral services will be conducted 4 PM Friday, May 15, 2009 in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with The Reverend Wilton Bolding and The Reverend Rodney Graham officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 4 PM Friday prior to the service and at other times will gather at the home of her daughter Sandy Phillips, 614 Mulberry Road, Easley.

The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to Rosemond Living Center, 138 Rosemond Street, Pickens, SC 29671 or to Hallmark Hospice, 119 Broadbent Way, Anderson, SC 29625.
