Penny Morrison

Jeanette McJunkin Morrison (Penny), 84, of Pickens, SC, died at Cottingham House in Seneca on July 4, 2009. Mrs Morrison was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas A. Morrison.

A native of Pickens County, Mrs. Morrison was born July 22, 1924, the daughter of the late Elbert and Dossie (Brezeale) McJunkin of Pickens. She was a retired teacher and guidance counselor at Westminster Middle School in Westminster, and a member of Rocky Knoll Baptist Church in Walhalla.

Mrs. Morrison’s only child, Steve Morrison, was laid to rest on June 13 of this year. She is survived by her sisters, Clovie Lawson of Gainesville, GA, and Roena McJunkin of Newport News, VA; her daughter-in-law, Ramona Byers Morrison; grandchildren, Rusty Morrison and wife Shannon, Lesley Smith and husband, Brian, and Anna Bess Morrison; four great grandchildren and numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Christine Moss of Greenville, SC, and a brother, Guy McJunkin of Pickens, SC.

A memorial service will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens, presided over by Reverend Tony Grant, Associate Pastor of Rocky Knoll Baptist Church, on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 11:00 AM. A visitation will immediately follow the service at the funeral home.
