No one was injured in the incident, said Assistant Sheriff Tim Morgan.
The incident occurred as the deputy was patrolling Jameson Road in Easley after assisting in a Highway Patrol chase, Morgan said.
“He noticed the gate was open where some storage facilities were located,” Morgan said.
After entering the property, the deputy saw “an older model Chevy truck sitting at the back of the lot,” the incident report stated.
As the deputy shone a spotlight on the truck, a white male rose up “put the truck into drive and started driving in an aggressive manner toward me,” the deputy stated in the report.
The truck struck the deputy’s cruiser on the passenger side, Morgan said.
Deputies discovered that two storage units had been burglarized.
The truck was later located was later found damaged and abandoned on Farrs Road near the intersection of SC 183.
“The truck was stolen out of Greenville,” Morgan said.
Inside the truck, deputies found two televisions, luggage, tools, CDs and a cell phone, the report stated.
