EASLEY – Nick Kenner pitch 6 and a third innings of shut-out ball to lead the U.S. East team from Williamsport, Penn., to a 2-0 win over the U.S. South team from Florida Friday night.

Keener picked up the win with Colic Kelley coming in for the final two outs to earn a save. Jarad Ward pitched a complete game in the losing effort for Florida.

Pennyslvania improve to 2-0 in pool play and has a key game Saturday against Louisiana, also 2-1. Florida falls to 0-2, and will play S.C. District One, also 0-2, Saturday night.

Pennsylvania first got on the scoreboard in the third inning, when Vincent Molesky singled to left field. He advanced to second on a bunt play, then came home when Kurt Wertz hit a single.

The U.S. East representatives’ other run came in the fourth inning when Brian Stopper doubled to start the inning. Eddie Belton came in to pinch hit for Stopper. Belton advanced to third on a fielder’s choice play, then came home on an error.
