Donavan Xavier Jones, 21, was swimming with friends around 2 p.m. when he went under and didn’t come back up, said corner Kandy Kelley.
Jones, of 3270 Poppy Court, Sumter, was pronounced dead at the scene, she said.
An autopsy was scheduled to be performed Monday at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Kelley said Jones’ drowning is being by the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office.
