We sponsored a local NFL Punt, Pass and Kick competition this past Wednesday at Jaycee Park on Volunteer Field. 15 participants competed in four different age divisions for a first place finish in order to advance to the sectional competition. Placing first in the 8/9 boys division was Collin Fowler; placing first in the 10/11 boys was Tyler Gravely; placing first in the 12/13 boys was Cody Nichols; and placing first in the 14/15 boys was Chandler Durden. Unfortunately, no girls came out to compete this year.
Congratulations to all of the participants on a successful competition and best of luck to the winners at their sectional competition!
It’s here! Our Annual Football Super Saturday celebration is this Saturday,
October 3. Games will be played at Pickens High School stadium (Bruce Field). This day serves as one of our largest fundraising drives. We will be serving hotdogs along with the usual concession items and baked goods. In case of inclement weather (lightning, field too wet), games will be cancelled. Please plan now to attend and support these young participants.

12:30 p.m. - Pickens Blue 7&8 (Santo) vs Pickens White 7&8 (Anthony)
2:00 p.m. - Pickens Blue 9&10 (Gravely) vs Pickens White 9&10 (Burgess)
3:30 p.m. - Pickens Blue 11&12 (Wakefield) vs Pickens White 11&12 (Roper)
I’m getting an early start this year; I would like to invite everyone to our booth at the Pumpkin Festival. We will again be serving hotdogs, sno-cones and pickles with all proceeds going to support our Recreation programs. This year’s festival is planned for Saturday, October 10. See you there!
