9&10 Football/Pickens Blue (C. Gravley) – Tuesday, 10/20, 7:30 p.m. @ Wren

11&12 Football/Pickens Blue (Wakefield) – Tuesday, 10/20, 7:30 p.m. @ Liberty



10U #1/Belt – Monday, 10/19, 7:00 p.m. @ Westminster

12U #2/Anthony - Monday, 10/19, 6 p.m. @ Fair Oak

15U #1 / Aleman – Monday, 10/19, 6 p.m. @ Pickens

15U #2 / Belt – Monday, 10/19, 7 p.m. @ Pickens



Please remember that these are single elimination, regular season team tournaments. Admission will be charged at all tournament sites---adults (over 18) are $3, students (6-18) are $2 and 5 and under is free. Please call the Rec. Dept. for directions.



This past Sunday, Oct. 18, the Rec. Dept. hosted the Punt, Pass & Kick Western Sectional Championship. Participants from all over the upstate, including Gaffney, Union, Spartanburg & Clinton, traveled to Pickens to compete. 51 competitors were vying for a chance to advance to the team championships to be held at a Carolina Panthers game. Collin Fowler, from the Pickens local competition, was our lone first place finisher in the 8/9 age division. The scores of all first place winners will now be submitted to NFL Headquarters for regional comparison. Winners will be notified by mail. I would like to thank all of the volunteers who made the day so successful: Tammy Anthony, Laura Marshall-Powers, Abby Holcombe, Tyler Burgess, JoJo Kelley, Charlie Anthony, Heidi Covey and Steve Thompson. Thanks guys…it was an awesome day!



Don’t forget, basketball registration continues now through November 6.
