Carlton Holley was the top vote getter in the race for three seats on Pickens City Council, with Patrick Lark and incumbent Jason Cassell winning the other two seats.
It was the night of the incumbent as the current mayors of Liberty and Central defeated their opponents and will serve another term.
Liberty mayor Brian Deese defeated former mayor Eddie Hughes 274 to 111, garnering 71.17 percent of the vote. And in Central, Mayor Mac Martin defeated Councilman David Donald 163 to 98.
But there will be change on Pickens City Council, with two new members coming on board.
Five candidates were vying for the three seats up for grabs. Carlton Holley Jr. was the top vote getter with 199 votes, Patrick Lark got 193 votes, and incumbent Jason Cassell was re-elected with 154 votes.
Current councilman Joe Durham and Preston Bruce lost, tying with 108 votes each. Current Councilman Connie Bowers decided not to run for re-election.
In the Liberty City Council race, incumbent Dwight Yates handily defeated Ellen Berry Seals to retain his seat as representative of Ward 1. And in Central, Benji Cumbie, Paige Bowers and Ken Dill were the top vote getters, earning the three seats up for grabs on council.
Cumbie got 187 votes, Bowers 139 and Bill 129.
The other four running for the three seats were incumbent Tracey Reynolds, with 89 votes; Joe Moss, with 82 votes; Wallace Palmer, 64 votes; and Jerry Turner 22 votes.
There were two seats up for grabs on Six Mile Town Council, but only one was decided in Tuesday’s election.
Roy Stoddard was the top vote getter with 102 votes, but the town will have to hold a run-off election between Aaron Smith, who got 50 votes, and Brenda Rippy who got 40 votes, to determine the second winner.
In Easley, the only contested race was for a seat on the Combined Utilities Commission.
