TABLE ROCK — Greenville police arrested a man and woman Sunday evening who may have been involved in a carjacking at Aunt Sue’s Country Corner on Scenic Highway 11 in northern Pickens County.

According to an incident report, the victim arrived to work that morning when he was approached by a man who pointed a .22 caliber handgun at his head and demanded the keys to his truck.

The victim reported that a woman was walking by the parking lot at the time of the incident and may have been with the man, according to the report.

Greenville deputies arrested Solomon J. Every, 31, of 219 Whitney St, Marietta, following a six-hour manhunt that ended around 7:30 p.m. Sunday near Pumpkintown and River roads, according to Matt Armstrong with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.

The search started after a Greenville County deputy tried to make a traffic stop on a truck that matched the description of the one stolen at Aunt Sue’s.

That truck was ditched and later recovered by police, according to police reports.

Every was charged in Greenville County with armed robbery, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, grand larceny and petit larceny in connection with another carjacking that took place Saturday at Jones Gap State Park.

Police believe he may have been involved in the Aunt Sue’s carjacking as well, according to Armstrong and a Pickens County incident report.

Greenville County authorities also believe Every may have been involved in an attempted armed robbery Sunday at the Mountain View Gift Shop.

Police say the suspect’s description in that case was similar to Every’s, and the vehicle used in the crime was similar to the one he is accused of stealing earlier that day.

They also arrested a 25-year-old woman during Sunday’s manhunt.

Maria C. Morgan, of 101 Old Watson Mountain Road, Traveler’s Rest, was charged with accessory before the fact of a felony in connection with an armed robbery Oct. 25 at the Handi Mart on Geer Highway, according to an arrest warrant.

According to an incident report, a man entered the store, pointed a handgun at an employee, demanded money and fled the scene with an undetermined amount of cash.

Police believe Morgan was in the car at the time of the incident, Armstrong said. She is also a suspect in the Pickens County carjacking, according to police.

Both Morgan and Every were taken to the Greenville County Detention Center following their arrests.

Tuesday, Pickens County authorities said warrants against both Every and Morgan have been issued, and once they are released from Greenville County, they will be transported to the Pickens County Detention Center, where those warrants will be served.

They will be charged with one count each of armed robbery and simple larceny, according to assistant sheriff Tim Morgan.

Armstrong said he expects more charges to be filed in connection to the other cases.
