PICKENS — As part of the second annual Holiday on Main, the city of Pickens will have a Christmas tree lighting following this year’s Christmas parade.

The tree lighting ceremony, which will include Christmas caroling by local singers, will take place at Legacy Square on Sunday, Dec. 13 at 5 p.m.

City administrator Katherine Brackett said downtown businesses owners are encouraged to have their stores open during the event, and vendors will be welcome with proper city permits.

Prior to the tree lighting, the annual Christmas parade will start at 3:30 p.m.

The theme for this year’s parade is “Christmas Traditions.”

The fee is $10 for non-commercial entries and $25 for commercial entries. Rules and applications are available at City Hall, at 219 Pendleton St., and the Pickens Chamber of Commerce at 222 W. Main St.

For more information, call City Hall at 878-6421.
