Spartanburg – Pattie Jones Bivins, 76, of Clifton Glendale Road, Spartanburg and formerly of 121 DeAnn Drive, Pickens, passed from this life on December 25, 2009. Her husband, Jimmie D. Bivins, died in 2006.

Mrs. Bivins was born in Belmont, NC a daughter of the late William T. and Bernice Hudspeth Jones. She earned her BS degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University and later taught in North Carolina and Pickens County, South Carolina School Systems. Mrs. Bivins was a member of the Pickens First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son Tim Bivins of Greenwood, SC and two brothers John Richard Jones of York, SC and Doug Jones of Seneca, SC.

Graveside services will be conducted 2 PM Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens in Pickens, SC with Dr. Fred Stone officiating.

The family will gather at the home, 121 De Ann Drive, Pickens following the service for a time of visitation.
