CLEMSON — Clemson police announced Tuesday that domestic violence charges against a former Clemson men’s soccer coach have been dropped.

Trevor Adair was arrested in April 2009 and charged with two counts of battery of a high and aggravated nature following a family dispute.

Police accused Adair of assaulting his two daughters, warrants stated.

Adair resigned from the Clemson University Soccer Program last June.

Tuesday, Clemson police said that the battery charges against Adair had been dropped.

Adair will pay a fine of $1,052 for violating a Clemson noise ordinance in connection with the dispute.

Adair began coaching at Clemson in 1995.

During his tenure, Adair led the men’s soccer team to five NCAA final eight competitions, including one Final Four showing.

Earlier this month, university officials announced Mike Noonan, former soccer coach at Brown University, will head up the Clemson men’s soccer program.
