PICKENS — Pickens County officers are investigating a Friday night shooting the coroner is calling a murder/suicide.

According to coroner Kandy Kelley, the shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. at 367 Massingill Memorial Drive in Pickens.

She said it is believed that Floyd Eugene Galloway, 42, of the above address, shot Tony Carl Edens, 43, of 101 Wallace Drive, Easley and then shot himself.

Both men died from a gunshot wound to the head, and alcohol is suspected in the incident, Kelley said.

Galloway was pronounced dead at the scene, and Edens was pronounced dead at Cannon Memorial Hospital Saturday morning at 5:35 a.m., she said.

The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, and an autopsy will be done at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
