PICKENS — As the result of an ongoing investigation, a Pickens man now faces several charges relating to illegal sexual conduct with a child.

Michael Jack Miller, 49, of 233 Ginko Ridge Road, was charged Feb. 4 with engaging a child under 18 for sexual performance, lewd act on a minor and sexual exploitation of a minor, first degree, according to arrest warrants.

Police are accusing Miller of “inducing” a 6-year-old girl to engage in a “sexual performance” and of making videos of her, warrants allege.

According to the warrants, the girl is shown nude or partially nude in the videos.

If convicted, officials with the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office say Miller could face up to 20 years for the engaging charge, 15 for the lewd act charge, and no less than three or more than 20 years for sexual exploitation of a minor.

Miller is currently being held in the Pickens County Detention Center without bond.

The investigation is a joint effort between the Sheriff’s Office and the S.C. Attorney General’s Office.
