LIBERTY — Liberty varsity baseball Coach Scott Kerwin will get a chance to lead the best high school players in the Upstate as he has been named a coach for this summer’s North/South All-Star team.

Kerwin will lead the North Team, with players from the upper part of South Carolina. The games will be played the weekend of June 18-19.

Kerwin’s Liberty team is preparing for the 2010 season, beginning wit a scrimmage Wednesday at Blue Ridge. The Red Devils will scrimmage again on Thursday at Carolina before returning home Friday for a scrimmage against Easley.

Liberty will host a scrimmage against West-Oak Feb. 24, then participate in the Easley pre-season tournament Feb. 26-March 5.

The Liberty softball team will host Daniel Wednesday afternoon for its first pre-season scrimmage. The Red Devils will scrimmage at Berea Thursday, then host Westside Feb. 22. Liberty’s final pre-season scrimmage will be March 2 at Westside.

Liberty will host a varsity tournament March 5-6, featuring Riverside, West-Oak and Pickens.

Liberty’s golf team begins its season March 9 at Falcon’s Lair Country Club against Walhalla.

The Red Devils will face Daniel at the Pickens Country Club March 11.

The Liberty track team will begin its regular season March 8, hosting Pickens in a meet.
