The current comprehensive plan was adopted in 1999, and during the update process, the county is evaluating its past accomplishments, reviewing its direction and determining new tools and resources needed to achieve its vision and to meet future goals and objectives.
The participation and input of Pickens County’s citizens and stakeholders will be the key to the successful update of our plan, organizers say.
The Planning Commission and Planning Staff encourage the public to become involved in and stay informed about the planning process.
Those involved are planning to hold two open houses during April to provide an informal, face-to-face opportunity for residents to comment and have direct input on the planning process and the future of the county, as well as provide an opportunity to view the advisory committee’s work and progress on the plan.
Those meetings will be held April 20 form 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the auditorium at the administration building; and on April 29 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the main meeting room of the Kimberly Hampton Memorial Library in Easley.
