LIBERTY – The fifth annual Liberty Idol auditions begin Saturday, April 3 at noon.

Auditions will be held at the Rosewood Center

in Liberty and will continue for four Saturdays until April 24.

On-stage competition begins Saturday April 24 at 7 p.m. and will continue every Saturday night until the finale show on July 3.

Last year’s winner, 30-year-old Amanda Cowen of Anderson wooed the voters last year to make it to the last show and win the grand prize of $2,500. Jeff Williams came in close second winning 1,250. Oneida Martin came in third taking home $1,000. Nick Giles finished in fourth leaving with $750 and Misty Holder finished up the money spots in fifth taking home $500.

Roy Costner, host and director of Liberty Idol said he promises this season to be even better.

Crowds topped more than 5,000 attendees at last year’s finale. Costner said he hopes to beat that number this year.

Liberty Idol is held at Sarlin Park Gazebo in downtown Liberty.
